Performance rating for thermal insulation products The actual lambda value is shown as illustrated. Definition of lambda: The ease by which heat energy travels through a material is measured by lambda. The lower the lambda value the more difficult it is for heat to flow through the insulation. For those unfamiliar with lambda values, we also include a graded thermal performance ratings, with colour coded boxes:
